“Defeating the inner judge”
Writing this chapter was hard but very good and healing. It took me back to the night of September 11, 2001—a date most people associate with the tragic events in New York.
I was part of a social and spiritual project that had spiraled out of control.
That night, I was attacked and in the chapter in the book, I share the story of how I was guided to escape and ultimately survive.
Although my story begins in fear and darkness, it is ultimately a story of hope. Even though I lost my way in life to an unimaginable degree, the light within my heart had never disappeared. My deepest wish in sharing this story is to remind others that there is always a path back to the heart—even when destructive thoughts seem to have taken over.
